FMC has super geniuses on its advisory board, and I'm watching three of them onstage right now. Peter Jenner managed Pink Floyd, produced Roy Harper and threw the original Hyde Park concerts in London. Jim Griffin is a music futurist. I've never heard such a brilliant speaker. Sandy Pearlman managed Blue Oyster Cult and Sabbath, produced The Clash (and BOC) and now is a fuckin' mad scientist of music business theory and the aesthetics of sound. He just presented some of the most radical ideas I've ever heard on the subject of the monetization of digital music.
I'll break down some of these theories later; probably once I'm home from Austin. So stay tuned. It'll be a doozy.
